It Works for Me!

Like many women my age, I have tried just about every fad diet out there. I have realized fad diets, or really any diet, just doesn’t work for me. When I am really serious about losing unwanted pounds and getting healthier, I know what to do- live the WW (formerly know as Weight Watchers) lifestyle. I have been a WW member off and on for the past eighteen years. When I really live the lifestyle, the pounds come off pretty easily; when I fall off the lifestyle, the pounds creep right back on pretty easily. Mindset is more important than anything else when you are changing your lifestyle. If you don’t believe in it, it’s just not going to work for you.

In December of 2018 I decided that my health was more important than just looking better- I wanted to feel better. My 50th birthday was lurking around the corner in August of 2019, and I set my mind to being healthy when I reached that milestone birthday. I started with WW again, and followed the lifestyle. Now, by my 50th birthday I was not at my goal weight, but I felt so much better. Because I felt so good, I kept on with WW. I ate healthy-ish and tracked my food. I didn’t cut out treats from my life (I love sweets and pastries); I just fit them in with my healthy eating. Along with healthy food choices, exercise is essential to feeling good. I have always been an active person, so I just amped up my activity. I walk and walk and walk. If the weather is good and I have my ear pods, I can walk for hours (and I have many, many times). Walking is my therapy. In the past couple of years I have added bike riding, working with weights, and several other activities to improve my health. I feel great- and I am getting pretty close to my WW goal!

I’m not on a diet– healthy food choices and exercise is part of my life and I hope I stay healthy to continue this lifestyle for a long time.

About Traci

I never would have thought I’d be so happy about being in my 50s. My health has never been better, and my personal and professional life have gone through many changes in the last ten years. I’ve gone from teaching high school English for twenty years to managing the office of a contractor company for a major refinery. Also, my children are now grown and out of the house- I’m a empty nester. I really believe this chapter will be the best yet!
